The rising frequency and severity of disaster events, coupled with the growing interdependence of infrastructure, continuous public engagement needs, and interconnected social networks in disaster planning, along with the widening risk disparities in vulnerable communities, are transforming the resilience of urban systems. Our interdisciplinary research on urban resilience leverages big data analytics, complex network methodologies, and advanced AI tools to develop comprehensive algorithmic and theoretical frameworks aimed at understanding, evaluating, and enhancing community resilience and equity.
Led by Dr. Shangjia Dong in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware, we actively seek collaborative partnerships with agencies, practitioners, and academic researchers. For more information, please contact Dr. Shangjia Dong.
